Buh-Rein Retirement Village will consist of 393 Independent Living Apartments. Owners will have access to all of the facilities mentioned below. Residents may enjoy 4 main meals (per unit) per month at any of the restaurants within the Clubhouse (pre-booking system).

Owners will have weekly access to primary healthcare clinic services by a registered / staff nurse at the Care Centre, 5 days per year (per unit) recuperative care at the Care Centre at no additional charge (T’s & C’s apply), 24-Hour Call4Care monitoring and emergency alert services, and 15% discount on permanent accommodation in the Care Centre. Permanent residents will also receive priority if they need to move to reside in the Care Centre, subject to availability.

Buh-Rein Retirement Village has its own Clubhouse with restaurants, a heated swimming pool, wellness salon, hairdresser, beautician, massage therapy, gymnasium with shower facilities, deli, library with internet access, bar/refreshment area, courtyard with central water feature and ample seating, lapa with indoor and outdoor braai facilities and a function hall which can accommodate up to 500 people. There is also a gatehouse with hobby areas; a workshop for woodwork and a room for handcrafts such as pottery and knitting.

A herb and vegetable garden interconnects with ‘green’ links from the surrounding apartments, making it the green lung of the development. This will provide a place to congregate, sit on benches and partake in the social aspects of living in a community or getting actively involved with the gardening.

Access and proximity to external space will enable an older person to maintain an active lifestyle which supports their physical and emotional well-being.

Care Services

  • Access to primary healthcare clinic services once a week by a registered / staff nurse at the Care Centre.
  • 5 days per year (per unit) Recuperative Care at the Care Centre at no additional charge. Before admission, an assessment will be done by the registered nurse to determine the level of care required for the resident. If the services required are more than what is provided as recuperative care, then the additional services and costs will be for the account of the resident.
  • In the case of full occupancy of the care centre, care similar to the recuperative care at the care centre will be provided at your residence. If the services required are more than what is provided as recuperative care, then the additional services and costs will be for the account of the resident.
  • One free monthly primary healthcare clinic visit at home if the residents’ health requires this.
  • One free emergency visit per month by nursing staff.
  • 24-Hour Call4Care monitoring and emergency alert services.

The cost of the additional services is determined on an individual-needs basis and can be applied for at the Care Manager. These services include but not limited to:

  • The administration and administering of medication.
  • Home Nursing Services by arrangement.
  • Professional services of a medical practitioner (Podiatrist, Physiotherapist, etc.).
  • Admission to the Frail Care/Dementia Care unit.

Home Nursing

  • Post-hospitalization care, oncology care, palliative care, wound care, catheter care, stoma care, tracheostomy care, rehabilitation care, home ventilation, oxygen therapy, single nursing procedures, social work consultations.
  • The type of service required by a patient will determine the cost of the care package. This is coordinated by the Care Manager using a multidisciplinary team to create a care plan in conjunction with the family and patient.
  • The Call4Care system is installed in each dwelling and can be used to notify the Call4Care Call Centre. They will immediately assist you with your emergency and notify the reception desk at the Care Centre.

General

  • 4 Main meals (per unit) per month at the restaurants within the Clubhouse (pre-booking system).
  • 15% Discount on permanent accommodation in the Care Centre.
  • Prioritized access for residents to reside in the Care Centre, subject to availability.
  • Estate Manager on duty, from 08H00 to 17H00, 5 days a week, excl. public holidays.
  • Twenty-four hour manned desk for on-site care monitoring at Care Centre.
  • Twenty-four hour security (guard at estate entrance gate, electric fencing & CCTV to designated areas in main building).
  • Concierge service available (booking of taxis etc.).
  • Library – daily newspapers & periodicals available.
  • Insurance on all building structures.
  • Cashless environment (card system) to be used within the Retirement Village.
  • Maintenance of the common grounds including garden care, infrastructure, Care Centre, exterior of the buildings and the removal of refuse.
  • Water and electricity to the common areas included in the monthly levy.
  • Active social calendar.
  • Access to the clubhouse deli, Lifestyle hall, the beautiful open-air courtyard with water features, heated swimming pool, Clubhouse gym with changing rooms, hair salon, clubhouse lounge and bar for refreshments.
  • The bowling/jukskei lawn to the west of the clubhouse as well as the vegetable garden to the south of the clubhouse, are also available for residents.
  • Access the workshop and hobby room, located at the gatehouse, for hobbies like woodwork, needlework, pottery etc.
  • Telephone point and instrument provided.
  • Internet access (high-speed data access point only).
  • Television (Satellite TV access point only).
  • Housekeeping services.
  • Laundry services (per kg).
  • Additional meals may be ordered at the a la carte restaurants within the clubhouse
  • Additional recuperative Care in addition of your 5 days per year (per unit) subject to availability

  • Transportation of residents to nearby shopping centres etc. via the dedicated retirement village bus.

Note: The cost of additional services is priced according to the required service and must be booked with the Care Manager.

  • All services, falling outside of what is provided under the standard monthly fee, will be billed separately at the end of the month and is payable by the 1st of the following month with the standard monthly fee. Services falling outside the standard monthly fee are optional extras chosen by resident.
  • The Care Manager will perform a medical assessment with the assistance of applicant’s general practitioner.
  • Personal information, medical aid information, current state of health, medical history, medication currently being used and allergies etc.
  • Yes, but only after formal approval by the trustees.
  • Residents must be 50 years old (at time of occupation) and your spouse/ partner may be younger than 50 years old.
  • Yes, all residents residing at the Independent Living Apartments, Assisted Living Apartments, Frail Care and Memory Care may make use of the facility. Arrangements for functions can be made with the Estate Manager.
  • Yes, this service is catered for. This service will be for the residents account and must be booked in advance.
  • A telephone point and instrument will be installed at each bed. Residents will be able to contract with Amobia as service provider.
  • Yes, minor cosmetic changes (for instance the installation of air conditioners) may be done. Approval must however be obtained from the Estate Manager first.
  • In case of a security emergency, kindly contact Call4Care, the Care Centre reception, Phangela Security or the Estate Manager.
  • A non-resident / visitor can stay over for a maximum of 21 days. Consent must be obtained from the Estate Manager.
  • Yes, a dedicated retirement bus will be available for the purpose of transporting residents at a cost to nearby shopping centres etc. Kindly book in advance with the Estate Manager.
